Application
Ethylene glycol can be used as a reagent in cyclocondensation reactions with aldehydes and ketones to form 1,3-dioxolanes.[2][3]
It has been used:
• As a carrier fluid during the fabrication of shear thickening fluid (composed of nanosized silica particles).[4]
• To compose previtrification and vitrification solutions for the cryopreservation of mouse embryos.[5]
